The leading choice for Canberra's ENT specialists, GPs, school counsellors and industry
Brindabella Hearing & Speech Centre provides diagnostic services to all of Canberra's Ear, Nose and Throat specialists, both on-site and by referral to our Centre. We provide on-site hearing and speech services to the new Queanbeyan GP Super Clinic. Our Speech-Language Pathologists provide on-site services to an increasing number of Canberra schools. Our Audiologists have performed on-site industrial screening programs for major airlines and government departments, among others.
In the past 6 months alone we have had referrals from more than 230 of Canberra's GPs, and all of its ENTs.
We don't just sell hearing aids
Our goal is your hearing and language health by the best means - the best means for you. Many modern hearing clinics are owned and managed by global hearing aid companies; what recommendation would you expect from that arrangement? At Brindabella Hearing & Speech Centre we offer a wide range of options to address your hearing, speech, lifestyle and budget requirements.
Our independence provides you with more choice
Being independent means a lot in these days of competing solutions; it means that Brindabella Hearing & Speech Centre can select from the very best across a range of solutions, brands and budgets. If your hearing or speech provider only offers one brand of solution, ask why - they may not be independent. That may not concern you, but you should be aware your choices have been limited. Brindabella Hearing & Speech Centre provides solutions from Siemens, Oticon, Starkey, Cochlear, Widex, Phonak [external links] and others.
No commissions or sales targets, ever
Everyone knows that car salespersons earn a commission on their sale. We think people might be shocked to learn how often it is happening in health care these days, without disclosure. Not with us.
Thousands of satisfied customers
Since conducting our first hearing assessment for a client in 2004, Brindabella Hearing & Speech Centre has helped thousands of people to understand and come to terms with their hearing and speech problems. We have fit more than 2000 Canberrans with hearing aids. Our staunchest referral source has been word of mouth from our clients. Our hearing aid return rates are the lowest in the industry - below 2% - that's because we focus on the rehabilitative process. For example, we were the first in the ACT to encourage sharing of tips and stories through group sessions between hearing aid users as a standard part of the fitting process.
Part of your community
Brindabella Hearing & Speech Centre plays an active role in the community, promoting hearing and language health. We frequently run conference booths and seminars for GPs and the public, and provide specialist speakers for men's sheds and other community groups.
Modern techniques, diagnostic equipment and solutions
Located in the medical districts of Canberra, our clinics have been custom outfitted for its primary purpose: your hearing and speech health. Consulting rooms are soundproofed and wired with modern diagnostic and therapeutic equipment. Our Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists regularly attend professional development and industry events to keep them at the forefront of their field.
Canberra's widest range of hearing and speech services
When Canberra's ENT and GP community complained of having to send balance-affected patients to Sydney for testing, Brindabella Hearing & Speech Centre invested in bringing the service to the ACT. When our Audiologists diagnosed children with Auditory Processing Disorder, we hired Speech-Language Pathologists to provide treatment. When a new method of controlling Tinnitus became available, we attained the accreditation to provide it. When school counsellors wanted on-site student sessions, we provided them. When industry asked for affordable, professional on-site employee screenings, we developed an offering. When the Queanbeyan GP Super Clinic sent out requests for Expressions of Interest, we responded. We'll respond to your needs too.
Great service and a written report, every time
A pre-appointment email or letter will ensure we are both prepared to extract full value from the time allocated. We strive to stick to our appointment schedule and will inform you if it must slip. If you have suggestions or a complaint, we have a variety of named and anonymous channels available for your feedback. Your written report underscores an important element of our philosophy: that you should walk away with something tangible to take to another provider should you move or otherwise choose to change providers. * Note some services do not cater for a written report to the patient, for example ongoing therapy or where the service is arranged entirely via an ENT.
We offer professional advice so you can make informed decisions
Our role is to perform a professional assessment and guide you through your options. Any decisions are yours. Most solutions we offer come with low-risk trial options; ask our staff about them.
